Follow Through: Play Ahead

a poem is brewing. found in the heart is a door which seeks to enlighten. many choices are delivered in spite of heavy waiting times. music has been a connecting force playing in unison with the frenzy of my waking life. i’ve composed a playlist to speak for the various essences that has spoken to me as of late. melodies are delivered to the spirit and upon random circumstance of the moment- you’ll be jamming in the middle of the bathroom singing LOUDLY:

1-LOVER CHANTING – Little Dragon

2-LOVE – Prince

3-SPEAK – Miles Davis

4-JOY – Rev. James Moore

5-TONGUE KISSING – Little Dragon

6-THE FINEST – S.O.S. Band

7-DO FRIES GO WITH THAT SHAKE? – George Clinton

8-SHALOM – Sananda Maitreya

9-S.S.T / BRAND NEW ORLEANS – Prince

1O-TELL ME HOW U WANNA BE DONE – Prince

11-TAMBOURINE – Prince

12-NO NOT ONE – Dorinda Clark

13-PRAISE HIM NOW – Kierra Sheard

14-WE MUST PRAISE – J.Moss

“Do you wanna be my girl – I wanna be be ur man”

“Do you wanna be my girl – I wanna be be ur man”

“Do you wanna be my girl – I wanna be be ur man”

“Do you wanna be my girl – I wanna be be ur man”

enchanting mysteries surround the mind of curious adventure! haha – the forgotten has remained in relevance of the lingering smell. remnants of what is to come can no longer be hidden. the array of aisles continue – lane by lane. cars passing each other. cycles at drift with the feeling of something alive will become different in the process  pressing. pulling. single and double reasons all meet aligned with the season! A change of motion!

can hardly keep count. did it happen if you did not capture it? What can be said about fleeting memories of spectacular proportions? When the fireworks go into overtime – when will our lights clock out? When given the chance to correct what has been proven false – do we tailor the critique in favor of feelings? As feelings get in the way how do we face them for what they are? One simple solution:

JAM OUT!

“No hurricanes nor the best cocaine
Will steal my love
No cold black rain or the darkest days
Will keep me from your love”

“Like a bird flyin’ over the hilltops
Love is like the sky, you know it never stops
From the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks
Love is whatever… Whatever… You want it to be”

“ba da da da da da – baaaa – daaa – ddaaa – daaaa – daa – daaaa SOLOS”

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

Joy! Joy! Ja, Ja, Ja, Ja, Ja, Ja, Ja, Ja, Ja, Ja Ja, Ja, Ja, Ja, Joy!”

“Tongue kissing tongue tongue kissing now
Leave me a letter I’ll write you too
Write a whole book dedicated to you
Or another song shit we still here
Tongue kissing
Tongue kissing now”

“My friends say I’m lucky
To have someone as good as you
My love’s understanding
Understanding how to hold on to you”

I’m a fast food junkie
And I need a fix
Without your sugar
I’m gonna be sick
So don’t try it
It’s calorie-free and nutrasweet
The love of you has gotten me on a diet

“What’s in a name Shalom?
Segue to my street and
In the middle of it say hello

On the trail of where a kiss leads to
I breathe a sigh
Invisible voices say hello
And then goodbye”

Which one is of value to you?
The one depleting the oil supply
Or the One that renews it
And keeps the peace
Like the groove in Sade’s “Sweetest Taboo”

Shall I write the alphabet? (A B C D E F G)
Or shall I just write my name?
U tell me, U’re the ruler in this telephone game
I could be a slave when it comes down 2 U (Slave)
I’ll do any and everything U want me 2 do
U know why? (Why?)
Cuz I want U 2 have fun

“I don’t care for one night stands
With trolley cars
That juggle seventeen
I just want to settle down and
Play around
My baby’s tambourine”

“I’ve got an angel watching me
Keeping me from all harm and danger
Angel watching over me”

“Through reprimand
Some I don’t understand
And I’ve never seen Your love forsake me
Even when I don’t deserve it

Through ups and downs
Through smiles and frowns
But you never put more on me than I can bare
That’s why I praise you more and more”

If I were a drummer, I would use my cymbal
If I were a writer, I would use a pencil
I would use my voice, if I were a singer
No matter who or what we are, we must praise

If I was a doctor, I would use my research
A prolific dissertation, if I was a speaker
I would use my hands, if I were a potter
No matter who or what we are, we must praise

it’s sweet that’s why it’s good. the body doesn’t necessarily need it to operate but assimilation takes hold and before you know it you’ve been kicked. rush! rush! rush! patterns are very difficult to break but they can be readjusted. What seems faithful among my life are melodies and pulsating dancing!

  1. Expression found within a playlist has a purity to it that’s not quite matched by any other form. I love it!

“When given the chance to correct what has been proven false – do we tailor the critique in favor of feelings?” I will be thinking on this for a while!
